Spicy Beef Chow Mein

1/2 pound angel hair pasta or vermicelli
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon pepper sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 teaspoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic — minced
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper flakes — crushed
1/2 pound lean beef — cut in 1/4″ strips
3 green onions — cut lengthwise
1 cup carrot — coarsely grated
4 cups cabbage — thinly sliced

Can also use Pork instead of Beef.
1. In large pot of boiling water, cook noodles for 4 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, in bowl, combine water, soy sauce, ketchup, pepper sauce, sugar and vegetable oil; set aside.
3. In large skillet or wok, cook garlic and hot pepper flakes over medium-high heat for 10 seconds. Add beef; stir-fry for 1 minute. Add green onions, carrots and cabbage; stir-fry for 3 minutes. Add noodles and sauce; heat through, about 1 minute, stirring gently to coat.
