Honey Garlic Ribs

Recipe By: Glad & Dave Mathews
Serving Size: 4
Preparation Time: 20Min
Total:  3 1/2 hours
3 lbs pork spare ribs
1 teaspoons black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Glad’s Honey Garlic Sauce
3/4 cup-7 1/2 fl oz ketchup
1/2 cup-6 fl oz honey
3 tablespoons-1 1/2 fl oz cider vinegar
1 tablespoon-1 fl oz soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon sherry pepper sauce
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon ginger; minced
1.  Position an oven rack 6 inches from the broiler and another rack on the bottom of the oven. Heat the oven to 300°F. If you’d like to remove the membrane from the bony underside of the ribs, use a small knife to release one corner of the thin membrane, then pull off the rest with your hands and discard.
2.  In a small bowl, stir together the salt, garlic powder and black pepper. Season the ribs on both sides with the spice mixture. Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil as if wrapping a present, place on a sheet pan flesh-side down and bake on the bottom rack until the meat is tender and pulls away easily from the bones, about 3 hours.
3.  Prepare Glad’s BBQ sauce by stirring all the ingredients together.
4.
Take the ribs out of the oven and remove the top layer of foil. Increase oven temperature to 350°F. Brush on the barbecue sauce. Return the ribs to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes.
5.  Place the ribs on a cutting board. Cut between the bones into individual riblets and transfer to a large platter to serve.
